Walker News - Update
August 2009 updates

Welcome to August's Edition of the Walker News

Here's the list of some of the activites we encountered during the month. Pam spent a few days in Salt Lake visiting Shannon and Taylor, which she enjoyed. Discovered of over a dozen baby gold fish in the garden pond. You may be able to make out the little ones in the pic below, if you look close enough. Plus we Celebrated Millie's 75th birthday (a day early), which the Cody fan club sponsored with an old geezer bash. The other issue that came up this month was that Cody needed surgery to remove a kidney stone from his bladder. He's recovered and doing better. Pam and I were able to spend a weekend up in Estes Park which we enjoyed. Finally Pam is still in a wait and see as each month that goes by the eye appears to be healing, but still unable to see, but in October she'll have a yag cold laser surgery to see if that helps.

That's about it for the intro, more of the details and pictures are below, and of course August's pictures have been posted for Cody and Taylor, along with a new webpage for boondoggle pics that go with the boondoggle trips.

B&B Weekend
August 28, 2009

Pam and I drove to Estes Park Friday afternoon, and along the way we stopped at the Oskar Blues Cajun Grill & Brewery in Lyons, Colorado for a late lunch. Continue our drive afterward and checked into the B&B Bristlecone Inn for a get away weekend.

Early Friday evening, we were surprised to hear worship music coming from the park a few blocks away. This, we had to check out and to our surprise a Praise in the Park concert by the Rocky Mountain Church of Estes Park, Colorado was in full swing. This made for a nice way to close out our evening entertainment and put a smile on our faces.
