Pam and I spent the weekend in Fort Collins, and enjoyed Elizar's performance Saturday evening with the Open Stage Theatre & Company, Man of la Mancha. The roles as Pedro/Prisoner/Moor at the Fort Collins Lincoln Center Mini Theater

Sunday morning we attended the First Baptist Church, as Mark our former pastor discussed Handling Church Conflict. The day continued as we enjoyed lunch with Elizar, and talked about his upcoming role, in the Titanic, The Musical at the Lakewood Cultural Center in August.
Sunday afternoon we joined Mark and Kerri at their home, and caught up on our families and life in general. The time slipped by before we new reminiscing about our church families past and present.

In Melissa's own words, as she wrote about her Avon walk experience

What an emotional experience this event was for me. Both the opening and closing ceremony brought tears to my eyes as I thought about the survivors including grandma and great grandma Walker and my manager Karen; as I thought about those who were diagnosed while we were walking; and as I thought about those who died while this event was taking place. The Rocky Mountain Avon Walk raised $3 Million dollars, one million more than last year. I also learned of a women in her 70s who was participating in her 100th walk and has raised a total of $1 million dollars with all the Avon Walks she has participated in. Even though the statistics of breast cancer are staggering, it is encouraging to see so many people- men and women come together to fight this terrible disease, which I believe one day will lead to a cure. Avon's slogan for this event was "For 2 days we walk as one" and as you look at my pictures you will see that WE DID WALK AS ONE!! - Melissa Mascarenas
