We are hoping this letter finds you well and blessed by our awesome Lord and Savior!
We have had a very peaceful year. January brought us to the realization that Pam was to
be permanently blind in her right eye. We exhausted all avenues and even sought a second
opinion. By God's grace, Pam has adapted very well to the loss and can still do most things
that she used to.
We were both very busy in February
and March with work, which we feel very blessed to have.
In April, Pam's mom had her second hip replaced. This time the surgery went very well and was
back home after several weeks at rehab. She still has residual numbness in her left leg from the
first replacement but does remarkable at getting around.
Our cousin, Michele and her family came to visit in May. Her husband, Wayne, had never been
here before and seemed to like what Colorado had to offer. Their little girl, Rachel, was such
a delight and seemed so grown up already.
In June, we had a grand adventure. Steve and I, along with our great-niece, Cameron, took
off on a road trip. Our first stop was Utah to pick up our son and grand-daughter. We then
headed to California for a long anticipated trip to Disneyland. There we met up with Steve's
family, Dad, Delia, Kathy, Pete, Gina, Rick and Heather. We had a wonderful time! We have so
many memories of rides, lines, food and family and are so grateful that we had the opportunity
to go. July, our grand-daughter turned eight. We cannot believe how much she has grown!
In August, Pam took her annual trip to Utah to have one on one time with Taylor and buy some
school clothes. These are precious times for the both of them. After coming back from Utah, Pam
decided to join Weight Watchers. She has been having the best time watching the scale document
her weight loss every week! She cannot wait to go clothes shopping next year when she reaches
her goal. From mid August through November, we were both kept busy with home projects. We had
the roof replaced, new garage doors installed and finally replaced all the windows on the main
level of the house.
October brought milestones to two family members. Both David and Amanda & Jeff bought their
first homes. Hopefully next May, Steve and I can go and visit each of them and hand out our
stamp of approval. The first week of November found our family expanding. Taylor's mom and new
husband had a little girl on November 5th and named her Kamryn. Taylor seems to be adapting
well to the role of big sister. Our nephew Jeramiah and wife Kiki, had a baby girl named Lilli
on November 9th. Such precious gifts from God these little ones are!
We celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary on the 4th of November. It is hard to believe that
we have been married that many years. God is gracious to us! Pam hosted Thanksgiving and enjoyed
having the family gathered together. We all got to hold baby Lilli which was an added bonus.
We are looking forward to going to California for Christmas with Steve's family this year.
Palm Desert will be a different and exciting experience during Christmas, I am sure. It will be
good to see everyone and to share this special time of year with them.
Our kids are doing well, even though both Shannon and Karl are out of work. We know God has
specific plans for them and jobs will happen in His perfect timing. It is hard to believe that
Melissa and Karl have been married for five years. They are faithful followers of Christ and
trust Him completely. Shannon has recovered quite well from his car accident but has not made
a faith commitment. God has given him an awesome talent and we know one day, Shannon will see
We are praying that each one of you will have a wonderful and blessed Christmas and Happy New Year
Steve & Pam Walker
